Researchers at Penn State University and Vanderbilt University are doing a study on how positive emotions and the brain develop to promote mental health in children

Who may be eligible?

Four to six year old children and their mothers

What will we do?

  • Parents will complete questions about moods and emotions at the start of the study and one and two years later
  • Children will play computer games while brain activity is measured with a stretchy cap at the start of the study and one and two years later in person at Penn State University

Financial compensation up to $360 will be provided

Happy Families

Important note* This study takes place at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Mothers and their children (ages eight–twelve) are needed for a study testing a new intervention to try and prevent the development of depression in children. You may be eligible if you are a mother and have experienced symptoms of depression at some time in your life. 

Families will be paid up to $390 for their participation.
